Logan Senchuk:

80lbs of body fat! That's what it took for Logan Senchuk to feel ready to compete!

Back up a few years when my wife and I were expecting our second child. We finally made it to the doctors office after I was laying in bed for 3 days not able to move. I had just slipped a disk in my lower back between L5 and L6. I stepped on the scale at 250 lbs! It was like a slap in the face. I was always a very active guy in decent shape, but with our first child and being at home all the time trying not to miss anything, the weight snuck up on me. After various tests and scans it was decided I would need surgery to fuse the spinal columns with an artificial disk to be able to walk without pain.

With our second child on the way I realized things had to change. I started hitting the gym and making better nutritional choices. Soon enough I started to see small changes, and the back pain started to subside. Keeping my head down I kept at it, knowing I was headed in the right direction. Everyday I would learn new workouts and new tips in nutrition and would get so excited to try something new. It was contagious, seemed like everyone I was around started to get the same "let's get in shape" mentality. Always happy to help when I could, I would give advice and workout whenever someone wanted to hit the iron.

I started to follow some bodybuilders on social media for motivation, and again slowly got hooked. I entered an 8 week online competition at 190 lbs and dropped down to 170 lbs with 5% body fat. I dropped 20 lbs in that competition with a total of 80 lbs from the day I started working out. I was so happy with the final pics, but unfortunately never won.

I've never had the urge to get on stage, until finally going to watch my first competition in person in October 2016. Instantly when the first competitor walked out, the energy in the crowd was crazy. I knew right away I had to compete the following March. That's when the training really went to the next level.

I want to thank you for reading this and Gorilla Jacks for the opportunity for the Iron will award. I hope to show my hard work and dedication on stage come March 25th. Last but not least, a huge shout out to my amazing wife, who without I would be nowhere.
