Jasmine Arnal:

My name is Jasmine Arnal. I am a 22 year old, small town, big dream kinda gal. I have never been skinny, and always admired the muscular, fit women on magazines.

I was bullied while growing up, and it impacted how I felt about myself. It tore my confidence away from me, and ever since, I've struggled with my self worth.

When I started college, I began to stress eat a lot and I wasn't sure the career I chose was my path in life. I ate “garbage,” chocolate and grease almost daily, and filled up on carbs on a regular basis. I was never the type to work out, so the weight quickly packed on. I was always feeling like crap. I quickly became depressed, and felt useless, and lost.

After ending an abusive relationship, and college, I began to worry about my health, and how much weight I had gained. Sitting at 203 pounds, I needed help, and to change my way of living. I needed happiness in my life and it had to start with my eating habits and self worth.

My “help” was to avoid eating. I ate one meal a day for a few months, and then decided gluten free would be my solution. After feeling like a slug, and losing a few pounds, it was time for professional help.

In June of 2013, I was amazed at the progress my friend had made when she chose to enter a fitness competition. When I saw pictures of her transformation I became motivated, and wanted to look as amazing as she did. I also wanted to be that person who motivated other people to turn their lives around.

I Joined Mass Meltdown in March 2014. I have learnt sacrifice, discipline and how to work out properly. I have a meal plan to follow, and of course, have the most amazing trainer, Ryan Malo. Slowly but surely I began to notice changes. The weight started coming off. I began to feel confident in my own skin. For the first time, I felt beautiful.

I am filled with excitement and joy, and I can't wait to show off my hard work. I am finally the woman I have longed to be. I have never been this happy. Fitness and health have become a huge part of my life, and I can't wait to strut my stuff with confidence on the MABBA stage March 28th.
