Katarzyna Rogozik's Submission:

My name is Katarzyna Rogozik and I am 27 years old. I started training for the 2012 MABBA Novice competition on November 14, 2011 and it's been quite the journey. This is my first competition and I have learned so much about myself, my body and the loved ones in my life. I have always been active and gone to the gym or hot yoga but this is an entirely different endeavor. I used to be bigger and very insecure about my body and when I started my weight loss journey in 2008 I weighed 135 lbs, which is a lot for my little 5'1'' frame! I gained a lot of weight from 2004-2008 after my mom got sick and then died of cancer and there came a point when I was depressed and angry so I turned to food for comfort. It took a few keys things and people close to me to point out the weight gain but finally one day a switch flipped and I went to the gym and never looked back.

After I got my weight down to around 120 lbs I was so much happier and felt great. I always wanted a body like the girls on the fitness magazines but never had the drive to work for it. Maintaining my new lower weight was a struggle, and after about 1 year it crept back up and that takes us to 2011. This was the start of living a healthier, fitter lifestyle and making a lifestyle change forever, not just for a bikini or pair of jeans.

When I started the Novice training program I weighed 122 lbs and currently I am 108 lbs. I have learned so much about my body, my tolerance and most of all my determination to succeed. I am pushed every single day, whether it be in the gym or in the kitchen, everyday is tough. I learned a lot about the people in my life, like that I have the best, most supportive boyfriend I could ask for and I couldn't off done a lot of this journey without him. I learned most people don't care about how little I eat or how much I train and that hurt some days but you have to push through and keep your goals in mind. I am doing this for myself, no one else and I have to surround myself with people who support me. I have a great trainer and company I am training with. They have pushed me when I needed it and provide me with great advice, tips and feedback along the way. This journey has changed my life and I have met some great people along the way who all motivate me to keep going and that there is no such thing as `too hard`.

My journey isn`t over yet, 2 weeks to go and I am going strong! Keeping focused and motivated and taking it one workout at a time, one meal at a time.
